From the natural gas well to the natural gas processing plant to the gas meter at the customer’s home, the SmartIR™ Infrared gas camera meets the leak detection and repair needs of the gas transmission and distribution industry.  Natural gas (methane) leaks create unsafe conditions and can cost large sums of money due to product loss.   The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera provides the easy and safe way to detect natural gas (methane) leaks as low as 500 ppm from as far away as 20 feet.

The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera replaces the current combustible gas indicator (CGI) and Flame Ionization (FI) surveying equipment and is also the Smart LDAR alternative to Method 21 monitoring.  The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera uses state-of-the-art, infrared spectroscopy technology.  The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera operates under a variety of environmental conditions and is built tough to stand up to normal field use.

Once you begin scanning equipment or a selected area, SmartIR™ begins recording the survey.  The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera LCD screen will display GPS coordinates, battery life, date and time.  When a leak is discovered, the SmartIR™ infrared gas camera will false color the leak for easy visual identification.  The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera will also analyze the gas cloud and display the top three chemical components of that leak, and the temperature at the center of the gas cloud.

The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera will allow you to record up to 8 hours of video.  Video footage is stored on an SD card that is internal to the camera, no external devices or cords, for easy transfer to any computer or the Leaders™ Fugitive Emissions LDAR management software for historical recordkeeping.
