Smart LDAR is the next advancement in fugitive emissions monitoring and the SmartIR™ infrared gas camera is the infrared spectroscopy camera leading the way as the alternative to Method 21 monitoring.
The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera is the most technologically advanced, state-of-art spectroscopy camera for fugitive emissions leak detection. The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera provides more information and sees more leaks at lower levels than the leading competitor. The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera is “hands down” the most sensitive camera on the market.
SmartIR™ maintains an extensive library of hundreds of chemical infrared “signatures” or spectral bands. With this library and the fact that the SmartIR™ infrared gas camera operates in the Long Wave Infrared Region (LWIR), means SmartIR™ can easily speciate and display the top three compounds that comprise a leak (See Figure 1). The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera detects leaks at lower ppm levels. The average low ppm leak range is between 1000 and 5000 ppm.
The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera is compact and easy to use. Simply point and shoot. All video information is displayed on the LCD screen. All video footage is recorded on an SD card that is internal to the camera. There are no external cords or external video recording devices required to operate the camera. Video footage may also be captured wirelessly using our patented wireless interface with the Symbol MC9090 handheld computer for upload to the Leaders™ Fugitive Emissions LDAR Management software.
Once you begin scanning equipment or a selected area, the SmartIR™ infrared gas camera begins recording the survey. The SmartIR™ screen will display GPS coordinates, battery life, date and time (See Figure 1). When a leak is discovered, the SmartIR™ infrared gas camera will false color the leak for easy visual identification. The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera can see leaks from as far away as 20 feet.

The SmartIR™ infrared gas camera is built to the “non-incendive” rating. In most cases this eliminates the need for hot work permits when scanning in a production unit.
For meeting your safety and fugitive emissions monitoring needs nothing is smarter than SmartIR™.
